11/4/2009 Five women from our neighborhood received $1,000 from a grant from United Way. The moms saved money each month over a year, and they recently received their matched amount.

10/9/2009 The SSJNN recently purchased on auction a home at 328 W 17th St. This home will be the second Genesis Home for women interested in buying a house.

6/1/2009 We have recieved a Capacity Grant which is for technology and related support services.

5/9/2009 New housing (lease to buy) are being built on Hickory and W. 17th St. Contact HANDS.

4/25/2009 Wally Brown coordinated the United Way Day of Caring events in Little Italy on 17th and 18th Streets. Gannon Students, the Neighborhood Watch members and 60 Skate Erie volunteers worked also at Columbus Park.

4/9/2009 The SSJNN received a grant from the Weed and Seed program that will enable 8 mentors to continue develop-ing constructive relationships with 8 children during the coming year 09-10

4/2/2009 Five women from the Time Out For Moms are continuing with the Money Works For You POWR grant. The women are saving monthly and will triple their savings by the end of the summer.
