Parks and Greenspace

The SSJNN implements beautification efforts to create positive neighborhood identity. These have included streetscaping activities such as: installation of street banners, park benches and 8 blocks of new sidewalks with curbside gardens; greenspace creation including 7 community gardens, 2 orchards, 17 murals and 13 urban art installations.

Current projects include new murals, street planters and the development of a large, formerly blighted property into a community gathering space. “Three Sisters Park” will offer welcoming landscaping, natural play elements, performance space, resting areas for all ages, art installations, bike racks and accessible paths for neighborhood foot travel.
