Call for Artists! – Tree Trunk Art at 331 W. 18th St.

Project Description
The Sisters of St. Joseph Neighborhood Network (SSJNN) is accepting applications from artists (or artist teams) for a unique public art opportunity in Erie. The finished artwork for this project
will be constructed in autumn of 2020 out of the tree trunk on the site of SSJNN’s “Field of Dreams” lot, 331 W. 18th Street. This project will add to many initiatives aimed at empowering
and revitalizing this neighborhood. The Design Committee will review proposals and choose an artist based on the work, references and applications submitted.

Project Goals and Scope
The goal of this project is to create public art that will transform the remaining approx. 7 ft. of a maple tree. The project is open to carving or other creative transformations that align with the
mission of SSJNN and the use of this field. Review of the attached photos and research regarding the mission and use of this space is encouraged to aid in submissions.
